RESEDENTIAL NEW BUILD

The former County Council house became redundant and Planning Permission was obtained to build 14 No flats in a four storey block.

The building was designed to minimise the height by constructing the Lower Ground floor so that although it was at road level, the rear of the building was at garden level. The flats are arranged four per floor with two penthouse flats at roof level.

The materials are traditional, however, much sustainable timber cladding is used externally.

The levels of insulation are higher than required in order to reduce the carbon emissions and some solar heating is also used to heat communal areas.

The site faces South with living accommodation overlooking the gardens and the sea.
